Your EventSidekick on Teams
Event Buddy is an AI teammate for VNG organizing teams. It brainstorms ideas, spins up the event and its Teams channel, assigns and tracks tasks, and sends the reminders for you β so the team spends time on the event, not the busywork.
Organizing an event is mostly busywork
Ideas, docs, task lists, and follow-ups scatter across chats and sheets β so the team spends more time coordinating than creating.
Scattered planning
Ideas, docs, sheets, and decisions live across chat threads, files, and email.
Manual task tracking
Who's doing what, by when β chased one DM at a time.
Endless follow-ups
Reminders typed and sent by hand, person by person, before event day.
Slow wrap-up
Collecting feedback and writing the post-event report eats days.
One agent for the whole event lifecycle
Talk to Event Buddy in plain language; it runs the event capabilities as tools β your team stays in control, it does the legwork.
Brainstorm & set up
Research ideas on the web, then create the event and its Teams channel in one move.
Tasks, assigned & tracked
Create, assign, and update tasks; see what's done and what's due, per person.
Reminders & messages, sent for you
It drafts personalized Teams DMs and emails to the team β you confirm, it sends.
Reads your event docs
Pulls in registration sheets, SharePoint files, decks, and channel threads, and answers across them.
From first idea to final report
Event Buddy covers the whole arc β so the organizing team has one place to plan, run, and wrap up.
Plan & brainstorm
Shape the concept, agenda, and to-dos with web-backed ideas.
Build the team
Enroll organizers and keep the roster in sync across DM and channel.
Run the event
Fire reminders and updates to the right people, on time.
Wrap up automatically
Collect feedback and generate an AI post-event report.
Two ways to bring Event Buddy in
Add it to Teams once, then chat with it privately or drop it into any group chat. Pick your path below β every step is spelled out.
First, add Event Buddy to Teams Β· one time
Download eventbuddy.zip, then in the Teams client open Apps β Manage your apps β Upload an app β Upload a customized app and pick the ZIP. That registers Event Buddy on your account. Now choose how you want to use it. (If you donβt see βUpload a customized appβ, ask IT to enable custom-app upload for your tenant.)
Open Event Buddy
In the top search bar type Event Buddy, or find it under the β’β’β’ (More apps) on the left rail, and select it.
Add it the first time
Click Add (or Open). Teams opens a private 1-on-1 chat with the bot β pinned to your chat list for next time.
Just type β no @mention
In a private chat you talk to it directly. Try βCreate an event called Summer Offsite on July 12.β
You drive everything
In a private chat you act as the host: create events & their channels, focus on an event, remind members, list tasks, brainstorm, and generate reports.
Open the group chat
Go to the group chat (any chat with 2+ people) where the team is coordinating the event.
Open its apps menu
Click the + (View more apps) next to the chat name at the top of the conversation.
Add Event Buddy to the chat
Find Event Buddy under your uploaded apps, then click Add / Save to attach it to this group chat.
@mention to talk to it
Type @Event Buddy then your request, e.g. β@Event Buddy remind everyone the deck is due Friday.β
A flat, shared space
In a group chat everyone is a peer moderator β anyone can create, focus, remind, or report. Outbound messages still pop a quick confirm card before theyβre sent.
